Questions we get a lot
Most of what a group needs to know before they reach out. If yours isn’t here, call the office and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you find out later.
Booking and visiting
Do we have to be Assemblies of God?
No. Churches, ministry organizations, camps, student groups and Christ-centered organizations of every denomination use the campus. Jackson Conference Center is owned by the Tennessee Ministry Network and we make no secret of that, but we are not interested in policing which tradition a group belongs to.
What we ask is that your event runs in line with Christ-centered camping ethics and that your group treats the property well.
How small a group can you take?
Our published rates start at twenty people. There is also a $5,500 minimum on any booking, which a smaller group on a short stay may not reach on the per-person math alone. If your group is under twenty or you are unsure how the minimum lands on your dates, ask us and we will run the number for you.
Can we see the campus before we book?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Groups make better decisions once they have walked the property and seen how the auditorium, the dining hall and the lodging sit relative to each other.
What happens after we send an inquiry?
Your note goes to our office and someone gets back to you by email or phone, whichever you prefer. We talk through dates, what it would cost for your group size, and what the campus is actually like. If you want to see it, we set up a tour.
There is no deposit, no paperwork and no commitment at that stage. Reaching out starts a conversation. Send an inquiry
Is summer available?
Partly. For roughly eight weeks each summer the campus belongs to the Tennessee Ministry Network’s own youth and kids camps, so availability for outside groups is limited in that window. It is worth asking early if summer dates matter to you.
Arriving and staying
What are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 1 p.m. and check-out is 10 a.m. If you need the buildings before that to set up, an extra setup day can be added to your rental and written into the agreement. See what that costs
Is there someone on site while we are here?
Yes. A Property Manager is on the property and on call twenty-four hours a day for the length of your stay. Facility preparation, grounds and waste are handled, so your team runs your event rather than the building.
Do we need insurance?
Yes. Groups carry their own coverage. A certificate of insurance comes with the signed rental agreement, and a copy goes to the Property Manager when you arrive.
Where do we park?
There is parking on campus and we will walk your group through it when you book. The one firm rule is no parking on the grass, anywhere on the property.
Sleeping arrangements
Do we bring bedding?
Yes, and this is the one people forget. Beds and mattresses are here. Linens, blankets, pillows, towels and personal toiletries are not. That applies to the cabins, the dorms and the staff house alike.
How many people can stay on campus?
Three hundred and fifty. That is a site-wide cap covering both lodging and the auditorium, so it is the ceiling on your whole group rather than on any one building. See how the beds break down
Can we choose which buildings we get?
Not by price, no. We allocate cabins, dorms and staff-house rooms based on your group size and what is available on your dates, and the per-person rate is the same wherever your people sleep. Most groups end up spread across more than one building.
If your group has a real constraint, like leadership needing to be together or boys and girls needing to be on separate sides of campus, tell us during booking and we will build the allocation around it.
Food and drink
Are meals included?
Yes, every one of them. The per-person rate covers dinner on your arrival day, three meals on each full day, and breakfast on the day you leave. How meals work
Can you handle allergies and dietary needs?
Yes. Vegetarian, gluten-free and allergies can be planned around, and the one thing we ask is that you tell us during the booking process rather than when you arrive. That is the point at which we can actually do something about it.
Can our group use the kitchen?
No. The kitchen is not available to visiting groups, which is a change from an arrangement some returning groups will remember. Meals are arranged for you instead, which means nobody on your team spends the weekend on food.
Can people eat in the cabins and dorms?
No food or drink in the cabins or the dorms. That is in the rental agreement, and it is there for the reason you would guess. The dining hall and the other approved gathering spaces are yours for as long as you want them.
The rooms and the tech
What is in the auditorium?
A full stage with an enclosed drum cage, a sound system and stage lighting, all of it included in your rate. The LED video wall is available as an add-on. See the auditorium
Can our own team run the sound and lights?
The equipment has to be operated by someone we have approved. In practice that gets sorted during booking, so bring it up early if you are travelling with your own audio or production people.
Is there a second space if we need one?
The dining hall doubles as one. It has a 100-inch screen and its own sound system, and with the tables moved out it holds a breakout track, a leaders’ meeting or a smaller session running alongside whatever is in the auditorium. See the dining hall
Is there power outdoors?
No. Electrical service runs to the buildings only, with no outdoor hook-ups anywhere on the grounds. If you are planning outdoor amplified music, outdoor stage lighting or anything that needs to plug in outside, raise it with us early rather than on arrival.
Recreation and the grounds
What recreation comes with the rental?
The courts, the fields, disc golf, gaga and the run of eighty-four acres, all of it in your rate. See what is out there
Can we use the pool?
Yes, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, as an add-on. Your group provides certified lifeguards and we will need to see their certifications before you swim. See what it costs
Can we have a bonfire?
With the Property Manager’s approval, yes. Talk to them on site rather than assuming, since conditions change through the year.
House rules
What is not allowed on the property?
Alcohol, tobacco, firearms and fireworks are prohibited anywhere on the property, for every group, without exception. Parking on the grass is also out.
Can we move furniture between buildings?
Check with the Property Manager first. Furniture and equipment should not be relocated or swapped between buildings without approval, and if your group needs extra bedding, tables or equipment somewhere, ask ahead and we will sort it out.
Can we film and photograph our event?
For your own keepsakes, yes, freely. For anything commercial or promotional, including advertising, films and documentaries, you need written permission from the Tennessee Ministry Network first, and TNMN may ask to review the material.
Still wondering about something?
Call the office and ask. There is no question too small, and we would rather work it out on the phone than have you guess from a website.
